Round one: The Welcoming Party
You find yourself being hauled from where-ever you first found yourself (a room, after first being brought to Archie’s ship, etc) down halls and into a very large, metal room. A long wooden surrounded by an army of wooden chairs, a plate piled with different kinds of food in front of each and your host the cyborg, Archie Wulf, seated at the opposite end of the room, at the head of the table. You notice that there are other creatures being dragged into the room in a similar fashion as yourself, maybe less violently, maybe more. The cyborg gets to his feet and spreads his arms wide, in an almost welcoming manor, as his lips twist into a grin and his red eye evaluates each one of you. He opens his mouth to speak.
“Well, hello there, my dearest friends! I know not all of you have met me face to face, and I am very pleased to finally have met you! Welcome everyone to my grand dining hall, you have no idea how very thrilled I am to see you all here!”
He pauses a moment to cough lightly into his elbow as a winged guard swiftly makes his way over with what seems to be a simple wine glass filled with a thick black liquid. Waving the guard away without a glance at him, he smiles at you and the others once more.
“Do not be afraid, come sit! Take a seat!” He encourages everyone, though the bounty hunters and guards remain in the room, each glowering at those they brought into the Dining hall. Archie elegantly sits himself down in his seat and waits for you and all of the others to sit before he chuckles to himself.
“I am curious, how have you come to my lovely empire? I have summoned most of you by name, but a few I do not recognize.” His eyes sweep across the room, pausing on one or two of the contestants with a smirk.
“Ah, but that can wait, that can wait! You must be hungry, please, eat!” He exclaimed rather suddenly, ending with a violent cough that brought the guard with the black liquid rushing back over. This time Archie allows him to set the glass down, but not without an angry remark that cannot be heard by those around him. The guard scuttles off, out of the room with a hurt look that seems to amuse the other guards. As the door behind him shuts, a very soft click can be heard from each door.
Again, Archie turns his attention to you and his other…guests, waiting for everyone to begin to eat. As you hesitantly pick at your food (or scarf it down), his grin widens, and it seems that his attention has been focused fully on making sure everyone begins to eat.
Once satisfied that everyone has taken at least a bite, Archie stabs his fork into the simple salad that waits in the bowl before him.
“You have all been poisoned. Each poison is deadly to your race or species.” He announces in boredom, almost disappointed as he suspects no one has noticed. He lifts the fork to eye level before dropping it back onto the plate. “But don’t worry. The creature seated across from you has an antidote, like so.” He pulls a small bottle filled with a clear liquid out of a pocket and holds it up for everyone to see. “You have two hours before you die.” He huffs, the vial seeming to vanish from his hand as he reaches for his fork once more and takes a bite, his smile returning.
Judges are watching from another room; there is no antidote, they were not actually poisoned, Archie will have vanished by the end of the round, and it will not be very clear how he left the room.
In this round, there will be no near deaths/deaths allowed. The round will end with Archie returning and gleefully stating there was no antidote.
You may start your entry at any point of the opening, where you are dragged into the dining hall, or you may start it immediately after.
While your OC may go after other competitor’s OCs than the one you have been paired against, you must make your opponent’s OC your main focus.
If there is an odd amount of contestants, the odd one out will be paired against Archie himself. Specifics for such will be given to said contestant.
If you try to open any doors, the guards will not react as they have been sealed shut and cannot be opened. There are no windows .
If you go up against Archie:
He likes to toy with his opponents, and it is likely he will eventually play at drinking the antidote himself if he gets bored. Which will happen quickly since he’d rather watch this round. He also seems to have a bit of a cold, so he will be pausing to cough quite a bit, and, if your OC is fast, it might be possible to confuse him if you are able to block his sight in his robotic eye. If he gets annoyed, one of two things will happen:
1.) He will stop any taunting or jokes, or any speaking at all and will begin to seriously attack, maybe even drawing a gun if you are unlucky, but he will bore after a few moment (very, very quickly) and simply toss the bottle away.
2.) He will throw he bottle to one of the guards to do whatever with and possibly vanish from the room without anyone really seeing how.
ALSO! If you go up against Archie, keep in mind he will have his eyes on you for the rest of the competition until you are eliminated. (This also means it is possible he will make it difficult for your character in late rounds if you have annoyed him.) Archie holds grudges!
